MIT’s Response to Financial Stresses

As MIT and other universities face significant financial burdens, the Financial Scenarios Working Group has been exploring strategies to support and advance the Institute's mission of research, education, and innovation. Faculty, students, and staff are encouraged to share feedback on the group’s initial ideas for ensuring a strong and sustainable future for MIT.

This presentation by EVPT Glen Shor examines where MIT’s resources come from, how we use our resources, and how and when financial decisions get made. Available to MIT community members in the Atlas Learning Center.

New Procurement Services Website + Supplier Search

The Office of the Vice President for Finance (VPF) recently launched two new web properties that simplify and enhance the procurement process at MIT. The new Procurement Services website centralizes purchasing and travel resources and offers expert advice and training tools. The new Supplier Search allows purchasers to access and filter a robust catalog of more than 20,000 MIT suppliers.

MIT releases financials and endowment figures for 2024

The Institute’s pooled investments returned 8.9 percent last year; endowment stands at $24.6 billion.

The MIT Report of the Treasurer is a public document that includes MIT's audited financial statements for a fiscal year.

MIT in Cambridge Impact Report
